FAQ's

When can I register?

Our gymnastics program runs year round, so you are welcome to join our program at any time! We will prorate your fees from your child's start date based on our 8 week session tuition. Your child is then automatically enrolled into every new session unless our written Drop Form is filled out.

Do you offer a trial class?

Yes! The first class your child comes to is a trial. Your child can try it out, make sure that they are happy with the program and our coaches can ensure the class is a good fit. If you enjoy your class, you will pay for that class and forward for the session. If you happen to not enjoy the class, you are not obligated to pay for it.

How do I register?

The quickest way is to give us a call at 563-355-7651 and we will go over available class options with you! You can also fill out our contact form, and one of our office staff members will be in touch as soon as possible!

What's the youngest age a child can start?

Our Parent & Tot classes start age age 18 months!

Do you offer mutli-class and sibling discounts?

Yes! You only pay full price for the first class tuition. Additional children's tuition and additional classes are offered at 15% Off! (Discount is taken on the lowest priced class). We also offer a discount on the 2nd child's yearly registration fee. If you have more than 2 children in the program, the yearly fee is waived for the 3rd and additional children!

How much do classes cost?

Visit our Classes page to see a description and prices for our different classes offered.

Do you have an annual fee?

Yes, for enrolled students. The yearly registration is good for one year from your child's start month. For one child the fee is $35, 2nd child is $15, 3rd and additional children are free. Membership fees are Non-Refundable. These fees are not charged for attending events.

What should my child wear?

Gymnastics leotards are preferred for girls. Shorts and t-shirts are appropriate for boys. No buttons, zippers, or jewelry other than stud earrings are to be worn. If hair is long enough, it should be worn up and out of the face. Bare feet are required in the gym.

How do I unenroll?

An official written drop slip must be filled out 2 weeks before the new session begins. Drop Slips are due the same week as tuition, by the end of week 7. Please come to the desk or email us to receive one. Drop Slips are important because they allow our business time to fill your child's spot. If we are not notified by the end of week 7, you will be automatically enrolled and billed for the next session. This is also explained as policy #7 under Payment Policies.

What is your absence and makeup policy?

Please notify JSG 24 hours in advance should an absence occur to be eligible for a make up.

Makeup Lessons are offered at JSG, however only 2 per 8 week session and are a COURTESY given to our students. Makeup's can only be used if the student is fully paid for that session. Our full policy is found under Payment Policies #10-11.

MAKEUP'S ARE NOT IN LIEU OF TUITION(NO CREDITS) & ARE NOT GUARANTEED.

We do ask for a minimum 24 hours notice of your child's absence because this way it gives us time to call and fill your child's place that week with another child needing a makeup. We have many students in need of a make up and have a “Makeup Waiting List”. So in turn, that's why we ask for a 24 hour notice. Once given a 24 hour notice, you have 8 weeks to make the missed class up as long as your child remains enrolled in our program.

We also understand sickness happens. Makeups are usually used for planned absences like vacations, school functions, being out of town, funerals, etc...Giving us a call to let us know of your child's absence is appreciated, but under 24 hours, we do need to stick to our policy to receive a make up.

We cannot reschedule makeup's for another makeup if you miss your scheduled makeup.

Am I able to stay and watch?

Yes! We have a large lobby with seating, viewing windows, and toys for siblings if you would like to stay and watch. You are also welcome to drop your student off as well.

How do chIldren progress through the levels?

Our gymnastics program follows the Fun & Fit Curriculum. This program allows children to progress at their own rate by providing them with a poster to take home to track their skills, while a corresponding curriculum card is kept at the gym to track their progress. We have evaluation week on the third and seventh week of our eight week sessions. When a child passes their level, they are typically able to stay with their class, as the class continues to progress. If we ever feel the need to move your child for their benefit we will contact you to figure out the best fit class for your schedule.

What is your Bad Weather Policy?

If we feel our gym needs to be closed because of bad weather, we will let you know as soon as we can to the best of our ability.

*We would first send out an email, so please make sure we have an updated email address or a second one on file too and give us permission to text you.

*We're on Facebook, so please "Like" our JSGQCA page.

*We contact news channels 4, 6 & 8 to put it on their weather closings site and the TV for cancellations.

*Last but not least, we would try to call you, but that's a tough one with so many students & so few office staff. We try though!

If classes are canceled, we will offer you a make-up class on another evening/day. An Open Gym, Kid's Night Out, or a credit for the class can also be applied to your account. We do like to try and give the students a gymnastics class or event so they don't have to miss out totally instead of crediting the account. But we understand it can be difficult to reschedule.

*If the area schools have cancelled classes for the day or have early outs because of the weather, it DOES NOT mean we will be closed also. We do not follow any certain school district guidelines. We usually will stay open if we feel it is safe enough for our families and coaches. We let you make the call if you would like to come in or not. We do understand. Most the time when classes have been canceled, the roads are fairly clear by the evening and kids are READY to get out :o)
