Jon Koenigsaeker - Owner
Jon Koenigsaecker was born and raised in Burbank, CA. He got an early start with gymnastics at the age of three. Just as many other kids, Jon’s mom started him in gymnastics class. He took to it immediately.
Jon started coaching at Fun & Fit Gymnastics where he spent many years honing his skills for teaching under the direction of Jeff Lulla at the age of 15. He was involved in the General Gymnastics with boys and girls, Mobile programs, Demonstration teams, Mommy and Me classes and Cheerleading. Eventually Jon helped a friend, Freddy Behin, open Gymnastics World in Southern, CA.
Later on in life Jon got involved in the entertainment industry doing rigging, aerial stunts, and aerial acrobatics for many different productions which included Fear Factor, Cirque du Soleil and many others.
Jon is First Aid, CPR, Spirit Safety Certified, Safety Certified along with being a Member of USA Gymnastics, AACCA and USASF .
Jon’s love for the sport of gymnastics has driven him to start his own gym.
Alexis Lafrenz
Head Instructor
Mrs. Alexis has participated in everything from tumbling to dance and piano and was competitive in many activities. She was a cheerleader in high school and on an all-star team. She continued cheering at Iowa State University and competed at a national level. She graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and Health. She has been a coach with us at Jump Start Gymnastics since 2016 and was promoted to Head Instructor in 2019.

Hi! My name is Coach Kaylee, I've been in dance and gymnastics for two years. I love building relationships with kids and coaching them though their struggles to reach their goals. I want to help kids be the best version of themselves!
Janelle Colbert

Hi, my name is Janelle! I am 24 years old and my birthday is January 27th. I’ve been doing gymnastics since I was five and I competed for 11 years. I started coaching at 14 and have been for 10 years! I recently moved to Davenport from Cedar Rapids. I attended USAG Congress in 2023 and 2024, and I’ve attended coaching camps in Texas and Iowa in 2015 and 2024.
I spend my weekends walking my pitbull Iris and going fishing! I also love shopping at Target, Ulta, and Zumies! I can’t wait to meet you!
Kyla LaMonte

My name is Coach Kyla, I am 19 years old and currently in school to become a second grade teacher. I’ve done gymnastics for 10 years and competed for 5, but I ultimately stopped after my gym shut down during covid. I never lost interest in gymnastics, which is why I enjoy coaching here! When I’m not coaching I’m probably watching my favorite movie series, The Hunger Games (specifically Catching Fire) or listening to my favorite singer Beyonce.
Meela Draheim

Hi! My name is Meela and I am from Davenport, IA! I am currently attending my senior year at Davenport North. I enjoy cheer, dance, and show-choir, and I’ve done it throughout high-school. I’ve been tumbling since I was little! I attended Jump Start when I was younger, and my mom even taught here before me! I have always wanted to work with kids as my future job. I enjoy coaching and helping kids achieve new skills and want to create a positive environment for them to learn their best!
Ethan Chambers

My name is Ethan Chambers and I was born in Memphis, Tennessee on January 15th,1999. I’ve lived in Mississippi, Florida, and Texas, but I moved to Moline, Illinois in June of 2025 with my family. I started working at Jump Start Gymnastics on April, 29th, 2026 and my nieces Charlotte and Lydia actually attend classes here! I love video games and anything creative or artsy. Some of my favorite video games are Pokemon, Super Mario, and Final Fantasy. I love drawing, painting, and recently taught myself how to crochet! I hope to meet you soon!
